The formulas are first-rate, and the colors? Well, let's just say Color Club is ALL about color! These folks are obsessed with capturing the essence of the Paris, Rome, London and New York runway palettes, and their collections prove it. They are also all about providing women with wearable choices, apart from and beyond the runway.
Today is the first opportunity I've had to swatch these babies, and unfortunately, most of my images don't adequately capture the beauty of these holos, all positively lovely and worthy of a place in any serious lacquer lover's collection.
UPDATE: Here are a couple of somewhat better outdoor-shots, evidencing the holo effect of these six colors...
From top, down: Harp on It, Angel Kiss, Holo-Graphic
From bottom left on up: Cherubic, Blue Heaven, Cloud Nine

Clockwise from upper left: Harp On It (silver); Halo-Graphic (pink); Angel Kiss (green); Cherubic (gold); Blue Heaven; and Cloud Nine (lavender)
The Halo Hues collection is pure pastel holo, which to this lacquerholic means unflinching wear-ability. These polishes are as equally at home in the boardroom, as they are cheering on the kids at Little League. They are perfectly polished neutrals that explode with a flash of unexpected rainbow pretty when its irredescence captures the light.
Keeping in mind that the holographic action on my images is only a fraction of what appears in real life (IRL), let's start with my personal favorite: Angel Kiss, with its minty green goodness...
Next up: Halo-Graphic, and its pink loveliness....
Blue Heaven needs no further introduction...
Harp On It is Color Club's silvery offering in this collection...
So, you're looking for a golden touch? Check out Cherubic, the collection's subtle gold holo...
Last but not least... Cloud Nine, the pinkish lilac-hued beauty of the set...
The application was classic 2-coats-and-you're-done-Color-Club, and went on smooooooooooooth.
These babies can be had at the Color Club website; at local beauty supply stores across the US and Canada; and during the last year, I gather they've have begun selling in the UK. I'm curious to know where else in the world these folks are distributing their gorgeous wares, so if you know...please share the info. UPDATE: Color Club is also available in Mexico (thanks, Mari!) and in the Netherlands (thanks, Lariesa!).
FYI, the manufacturer's suggested retail price on these polishes at $10 US. However, I picked up this entire set for the exquisitely low price of $3.99 per bottle at Beauty Plus Salon, in the Walden Galleria, Cheektowaga, NY. I'm guessing that was a one-day super sale, but it can't hurt to check them out.
So, what do you think? Are you game for some Color Club Holo Hue? I'm secretly hoping that Color Club ups the ante here and comes out with a high-pigment collection of holos, ala the China Glaze polishes that are reportedly set to debut in Summer 2013.
Do you have other holographic polishes in your collection? Pining for more? Lemme know your thoughts.
In the meantime, that's it for today. I thank you much for stopping by. Here's hoping our US readers had a great Thanksgiving, and that you all have a super weekend!

Lucky lady!!! I have been wanting these so badly but every time I hear of a sale they are sold out and I don't have any place that sells them here by me. I love your swatches, they are so beautiful! The holo must be super strong since you were able to capture so much of it on camera indoors! Great job, and great pictures my dear!
ReplyDeleteThank you, sweets! I just updated the post to include a couple of outdoor shots, which do a better job of showing the holo. Duh. LOL. Not much sun in these parts, so I grabbed what I could.

I love the outdoor shots! I keep looking at the pictures, drooling! LOL
DeleteLOL. I just love you to pieces.
DeletePS. If you can't find these babies and still want 'em, let us know. Liz can see about hunting them down in the Nickle City for ya.
Holos are so pretty, I only have one, and its beyond gorge!! I must check my local winners for these!!!
ReplyDeleteI love 'em, Nicole. They light up like a Christmas tree when the light hits then just so!

Oh my God! I loved Cherubic!...Also Cloud Nine which looks really pretty on you!!!
ReplyDeleteColor Club is available in Mexico at Sally Beauty Supply but I haven't seen this collection, hopefully it will arrive soon and I can get my hands on those 2!
I only have 2 Layla Holographic polishes that I got at ULTA last month when I went on vacation to California...I wish I had gotten more but they are a bit expensive at U$15!!
Loved your swatches! Great job girl!
Yes, the Laylas are pricey. Liz has a bunch of 'em, and I drool every time I see them. These are far more affordable, especially when you can get them on sale.
DeleteThanks for clueing me in about Color Club being sold in Mexico. I see that Lariesa has also picked them up in the Netherlands!
Thanks for the sweet comment, angel!!!!

Lisa! BEAUTIFUL swatches!! I'm seriously drooling right now. I have them too but I have to wait until Christmas since it's a gift from my boyfriend wehhhhhhhhhhhh. :( Color Club is really a great brand, I love the colors they offer and the price is great too! These were a bit more expensive but ohhhhhhhh the holo-goodness is just too much! I still miss doing challenges with you and Liz btw :( Do you have one in mind? x
ReplyDeleteLariesa ~ Thanks so much, sweetie! Can't wait for you to open your bf's Christmas present! I've got a couple of those myself. Nowadays, people know I want polish, polish and more polish. LOL.
ReplyDeleteAs for the challenge...I'd love to do a weekly one, just to get past the busy holidays.
I'm drawing a blank right now but I'll think more about it. What about you? Any ideas?
