31 DAY CHALLENGE, DAY 26 - inspired by a pattern!

Oh man. I'll admit it. I was completely stumped as to what I would do for today's challenge. Inspired by a pattern? There are so many ways to interpret the challenge, and so many different patterns that I lack the talent to create. After hours of indecision, I decided that I would try something new today.
Colors used: butter LONDON - Sprog, essie - Butler Please, Cult Nails - Time Traveler
Today's offering is a blue on blue on blue spin on the popular "fishtail braid" manicure. This is the first time that I have ever tried this style, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. Because this is my first time, please don't judge me too hard. It's very uneven, and I could have done a better job with getting all the layers opaque... but I still really like how this came out. It's blue. What's not to love?!

What do you think about the whole "fishtail braid" look? Is this something you would wear out on the town? I'm afraid that my left hand doesn't look nearly as nice as my right. If only I was ambidextrous! Curse my limited nature!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope that you'll follow my lead and check out what the other participants are up to! :)

  3. I think it's a lot of fun, and a great look. I've been intimidated by the technique, though. Looks like it requires a level of precision that I'm not known for. Will give it a shot, though.

    1. <3 You should try it for sure! It looks intimidating, but I found it fairly fool-proof.

  4. I've only attempted this once, but I tried with two colors and it just didn't make sense to me!! This turned out great, I love that Essie blue but heard it's a dupe for Sally Hansen Pacific Blue (or whatever it's called) so I haven't bought it yet - I might just do it now though, it's gorge!!

    1. I honestly don't know about any dupes (I don't have any in my collection) but I wouldn't be shocked. It isn't the most original color, but I love it regardless. Such a happy color!!

    1. Thanks :) I'm not fantastic at straight lines, but I found this to be fairly foolproof. Let the brush do the work for you! (It's my new mantra)
