31 DAY CHALLENGE - DAY 21: Inspired by a COLOR!

Howdy! Now that you're here I have something exciting to tell you. For the first time in... ever... I have been enjoying darker, "vampier" shades. It started two weeks ago, and I feel as though I've been thrown for a loop. I blame it on Fall. Curse you Fall!!!!!!!!!

::raises fists in an endless fury against the changing of the seasons::

Just kidding - don't run away because I'm weird! I apologize. I'll get back on topic.

Anywho, I have been thinking for the past few weeks about what color I want to be "inspired by" for this post, and yeah. It turns out that planning ahead doesn't lend itself to the whole "inspiration" thing. As I was worrying about my lack of planning, I made a polish purchase that would make everything alright.

I bought OPI's My Private Jet. While my bottle isn't one of the HTF original formulas, I still found myself smitten with the espresso brown polish and its subtle glitter glory. It's a polish I never looked at twice before that fateful visit to the Galleria. I put the polish on at the beginning of the week, and I haven't been able to take it off since. I am in love, and if it's wrong I don't want to be right!!! Rather than take off My Private Jet, I was inspired to embrace it and present a manicure inspired by the color BROWN.

BROWN: Can you dig it?

For this manicure, I wore OPI's My Private Jet as the base. I then used my dotting tools to create a half-arch dot effect with OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons, Sonia Kashuk Tauped, and Sonia Kashuk Khaki Shorts.

I was inspired by a simple tutorial that I had bookmarked last month. I love how simple, and graceful the look is.

With the color combination, I can't help but think of coffee, chocolate, and Fall.

I hope that you like this mani half as much as I do. It's a very different color-scheme than I am used to, but I'm a firm believer that sometimes you have to shake it up and try something new. With that in mind, I am going to check out what the other challengers have to offer... perhaps inspiration will find me again!

    1. Thanks Nicole! I'm rarely in the mood for dark colors, so this was new for me. You keep going with those neon colors - in a month or so the bright happy colors will be needed!! Lol
