Lovin' Me Some Red

I had myself a hankering for red polish.  I wanted to find a dark, rich red.  Creme formula.

And so, I went on the hunt for this red.  Everywhere.  Reds with blue undertones and reds with yellow undertones.  Pinkish reds.  Reds of all stripes.

It's not that I wanted All Reds.  I wanted My Red.  The one that would work with, as opposed to against, my skintone.

And so it was that I came to approach my considerable stash, with an eye toward unearthing that polish. 

Here's the bottle that found me; the one that called out ....

The impossibly beautiful Pekin.

Pekin of Nubar's Finest Silks Collection.

It's a luscious color.

Look again.

Very glossy.  And the application?  Smooth as silk.

Pekin, like all Nubar polishes, is free of formaldehyde, phthalate (DBP), and toluene.  It's also vegan and cruelty free.

Nice!

But, I can never leave well enough alone.

One day later, here's a shot of Pekin, brushed with a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust.

I sure do love me some holographic glitter magic.

Micro holographic shimmer.  Makes me giddy.  It should be a controlled substance.

Like Pekin above it, Fairy Dust is free of bad toxic stuff.

What's not to love?
