Enough about me, let's get on to the important part - what am I wearing on my nails!? You might have gotten a hint from the title, but I've been inspired and swept away by OPI's New York City Ballet collection. The new shades are sheer, elegant, and etherial. Immediately I knew that there were two colors that I wouldn't be able to pass over, and my lovely mom picked them up for me before she visited for the weekend.
Long story short, I fell in love with My Pointe Exactly (a sheer, jelly-like gray polish) and Pirouette My Whistle (a gorgeous mix of silver micro glitter and silver hex glitter). On their own, both polishes apply like a dream and were super flattering, but the real magic happens when you wear them together.
I wanted to attempt at capturing MPE's opacity after 1, 2, and 3 applied layers. The first layer (pointer finger) didn't look like much, and I was honestly concerned. Being the trooper that I am, I soldiered on to apply another layer. Layer 2 (middle finger) did give me a little hope, since I was actually able to tell that there was something on my nails! Finally, I got to layer 3 (ring finger), and while there was still a lot of VNL, I liked the effect. MPE is a sheer polish that builds well and offers a sheer, pretty, delicate look. I couldn't hold myself back with the pinky finger, and applied a layer of PMW. So Pretty. Ugh. I love it.

Very nice, I'm still waiting for that collection to come up north of the border, I'm dying to get my paws on Pirouette My Whistle
